1950's Television: ''You Bet Your Life'' - Secret Word: Voice
About this film
An episode of the hugely popular 1950's Television series "You Bet Your Life", featuring the comic talents of Groucho Marx. A "comedic quiz show", much of this program's humor was improvised, although Groucho usually would have a very basic idea on who would appear each episode. Like most 1950's quiz shows, it wasn't rigged, but the scandals involving "Twenty One", "Dotto" and "The $64,000 Question" caused ratings to decline. Still, the show enjoyed a long run, finishing after more than 10 years on the air. As the show was produced directly on film, most episodes still exist. This episode also includes original commercials for DeSoto, a brand of cars.
