The Mad Wizard
About this film
The Mad Wizard was produced by Pope Productions in 1985. It epitomizes the production and post production industry I worked for while I was a field service engineer with Ampex in New York City. Empire Video did a lot of work on this 15-minute production. Empire's chief engineer and I are friends. We worked together at Ampex in the early 1980s. He gave me the VHS copy that I'm sharing here. I'm publishing this production to honor the incredible technology, special effects, and people from this bygone era. It was a heady time for all of us. This production is one the best video production collaborations I ever saw happen in New York City. source / lineage: Ampex VPR-3 master > VPR-3 dub > VHS copy transferred by Kevin Tobin > avi file April 8, 2018
