The end of the world is imminent, but that doesn't mean there isn't time for a romantic subplot. Gobbledygook science and the screenplay's colossal silliness make this low budget romp entertaining in spite of itself. You gotta love the airliner interior set with office chairs and folding card tables. (SPOILER: The world doesn't explode.) Produced for Columbia by Sam Katzman who also was responsible for the infamous "The Giant Claw," the trailer for which is in this collection.
