1929 Universal Pictures serial directed by Henry MacRae and starring Frank Merrill as Tarzan, Natalie Kingston as Lady Jane Greystoke, Lillian Worth as Queen La and Al Ferguson as the seedy Albert Werper. Based upon the story “The Jewels of Opar,” by Edgar Rice Burroughs, this well-produced, fifteen-chapter silent-era serial features a pre-recorded soundtrack of music with occasional sound effects, including a truly unique tarzan yell.
