VHS recording of a 3 hr video feedback and mixing workshop at SITE Gallery, Sheffield, by artist Sam Meech. Presented as part of the 'Glitches in a Liquid Crystal World' event, which marked the end of the Liquid Crystal Display. https://www.sitegallery.org/event/liquid-crystal-display-closing-party/ Video can behave like crystals in the sense the feedback systems enable complex forms and patterns to be generated through simple rules. Visitors to the event were encouraged to 'grow' new forms of video using feedback techniques and mixing using video cameras and panasonic video mixer. Sounds were produced by another artist workshop in the space, led by Kelly Jane Jones, using a combination of bowls, crystals and slates with contact mics and reverberation. www.smeech.co.uk
