Rare Bela Lugosi trailers: Mark of the Vampire, White Zombie
About this film
Unusual, rarely seen movie trailer for "Mark of the Vampire" (1935) with Lugosi looking into the camera and camping it up as Count Mora. This was a rogue non-Dracula vampire movie for MGM that ends in farce. (Universal had already begun to neglect Lugosi in favor of Karloff.) Columbia did the same thing with Lugosi in "Return of the Vampire" in 1943. That same year Universal made "Son of Dracula" with the miscast Lon Chaney. The second trailer is for "White Zombie" (1932), a terrific little independent film. Lugosi supposedly directed a scene or two of this himself.
