About this film
"Radio Art" by Owen O'Toole. One of Owen's greatest enthusiasms was for radio. He was probably involved with it for something like 30 years. When he & I 1st corresponded, he was connected to WMFO, the radio station of Tufts University in Somerville, Massachussetts. After he moved to Portland, Maine, he switched to WMPG. On the West Coast of the us@ he was associated with at least one or two other stations. He was particularly involved with Free Form Radio, radio where the DJs take a more active role in mixing the outgoing sound. This movie is his documentation of his attendance at AMARC 5 (" But it was only at the Oaxtepec Conference, held in Mexico in 1992, that the International Women's Network was launched, together with AMARC's International Solidarity Network. " - http://www.amarc.org/?q=node/5 ) in Mexico in August, 1992. This casual documentary gives a feel for what was happening without adding an explanatory narrative. At least one DJ can be seen drinking & smoking around the gear, a general do-not-do the doing of which shows how much of a party atmosphere there must've been. This is the 10th upload in a projected series of 13 of movie material by Owen O'Toole in the tENTAT…
