AudioPrince's Orchestra - Tannhauser Overture Pt. 1 & 2
About this film
It's January 1916, and we haven't got to the point of forbidding German music, so Prince and the boys have changed the band uniforms for the orchestra tuxes, and Prince has mounted the podium to conduct what I reckon to be the world's longest overture. Columbia record technology has advanced beyond the protective ridge, and they have managed to squeeze 9 minutes of pure heroics into this disc. For the catalog-minded, this is Columbia A5829 Masters 48564 and 48679.
