Suribachi, many auxiliary ships in transport area in background. 2) MS-Pan Casualties are carried from ambulances to tent marked "Air Evacuation Center". 3) MS R4D taxis. 4) MS-CU Casualties are carried out to air strip on stretcher, some are being given blood plasma. 5) CU Several badly wounded Marines on stretcher-SV. 6) MS Wounded Marine is placed on R4D-SV. 7) MS-Pan R4D taxis and takes off. 8) CU Marine casualty, on stretcher, is taken aboard for air evacuation. 9) CU "Air Evacuation" insignia on side of plane. 10) HS R4Ds lined up on Iwo Jima airfield, R4D taxis for take off-SV. 11) HS R4Ds parked on air strip, line of Marines marches in foreground."
