United States Naval Photographic Center film #4375. This is not footage of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. It is footage of the May 21, 1944 "West Loch Disaster" which killed hundreds of Sailors and Marines. National Archives description "LS Fire boats spraying some water on fire; much smoke. LS Big explosion; tug in BG. MLS Fire boat spraying. LS Large tug alongside the LST that's on fire. MLS LST on fire; fire boat in FG spraying water on it (SV). MLS LST has front doors open and the smoke is pouring out. CU Two LCM's as they are pumping water to be sprayed on the fire. LS Ship on fire. LS Fire and many small craft around in harbor (SV). MS Big explosion; big ball of smoke goes up into the air. LS Craft start to leave the area where the explosion occurred. LS Smoke boiling out from the fire (SV)."
