I do not speak Japanese, but this is a U.S. Navy copy of a WWII Imperial Japanese Naval newsreel, though the National Archives mislabels it as "Japanese Defense In North Sea, 02-1953." Maybe it is February, 1943? National Archives description: " 1) MLS Japanese battleships underway in North Sea. [North Pacific] 2) MS Bow of destroyer with high waves coming on deck. 3) MS Two crewmen looking thru binocs and telescope on bridge. 4) MS Frozen deck, showing lifeline and anchor chain of destroyer. 5) MS Various shots of crewmen, wearing cold weather gear, as they break ice from deck and gun mount. Good 6) MS Map of North Pacific Ocean with Japanese markers on it. 7) MLS Several Japanese cruisers in formation, underway. 8) MS Japanese chief handling wheel on bridge (dark). 9) MS Various shots of Japanese marines in combat uniform, on deck; they are disembarking. 10) MS Same marines on landing craft, setting rifles on gunnel, pointed toward enemy shore. 11) MS Japanese troops landing on shore and advancing thru swampy grassy field.
