Irish bagpipe solo, Shamrock 1235, recorded NYC, unknown date. Gallagher was a Leitrim flute player who learned the pipes in America. "Long Dances" are usually referred to as Set Dances, and are tunes in jig or hornpipe time with extra bars of music, usually in the tune's second part, with unique steps for each dance. Gallagher has some very attractive bits of staccato playing in his version.
