About this film
Compelling historical drama and biography of the Mexican revolutionary and national hero Benito Juarez. Unusual for Hollywood biopics in that close attention was paid to visual and historical accuracy. Its outstanding cast is headed by Paul Muni in the title role. A loose adaptation of Franz Werfel's play "Juarez and Maximillian." TRIVIA: Juarez was only 4'6" (1.37m) tall.
