A crooked mayor loots his town’s treasury, but while playing poker he wins a broken down theater and a bankrupt theatrical school. I Know! They can put on a show! (yikes) The conman-mayor is played by the beloved BBC radio comic Tommy Handley supported by a large cast of British zanies. IMDB rating 5.5. Directed by Walter Forde. Released in1943 (UK only).
