Rousing World War 2 actioner centered on the United States Marines on Okinawa. Strong cast and good production values including second unit footage of marine combat maneuvers at Camp Pendleton, CA. The USMC used this film for recuitment during the Korean war. CAST NOTE: 20th Century Fox promoted this film as Robert Wagner's feature film debut. It wasn't. However it was Richard Boone's debut. TRIVIA: This was director Lewis Milestone's seventh war film. The first was "All Quiet on the Western Front," the trailer for which is in this collection.
