War Dept Film Bulletin 192 Fixed Bridge Construction And Repair In The CBI 1945
About this film
National Archives description "Reel 1 shows a bamboo footbridge over a stream. Piles are driven and trestles are placed for a bridge foundation. Elephants carry and pile logs; planks are cut at a portable saw mill; and a causeway is constructed over swampy ground. Reel 2 shows a double Bailey bridge, and a combination railway-pedestrian-highway bridge. Coolies in Burma carry materials on a walkway over the Salween River. Concrete bridge towers are constructed and cable is strung to support the bridge."
