Footage of U. S. Army Quartermaster Corps Trials of Clothing and Equipment for the Tropics, Camp Indian Bay, Florida, June - September, 1944. National Archives description: "Various Quartermaster items are tested near Indian Bay, Florida. Reel 1, troops to be used in the tests are given physical examinations. Men, supplies, and equipment are assembled at the test area. An amphibious landing is staged to determine the effect of salt water on clothing and metal. Reel 2, an operation base is set up for a 20-day problem. Machete knives, jungle sleeping bags, emergency rations, mosquito repellents, footwear, floatation bladders, and waterproof rifle covers are tested. Reel 3, packs are tested. Various items are examined; the men make recommendations."
