Film not in the greatest shape. National Archives description:"Reel 1, Gen. William N. Porter directs the establishment of tropical chemical warfare tests on San Jose Island. Men and equipment sail from New Orleans for the Canal Zone. Reel 2, mustard gas is tested against impregnated clothing. The M7 100-lb. bomb is tested and chemical samplings of bombed areas are made. Mortars lay down a mustard gas barrage. Reel 3, tests of non-persistent gas munitions are made. Phosgene and CK gases are tested on goats, mechanical breathers, and U.S. and Japanese canisters. CK gas breaks the Japanese canister. Reel 4, goats are used to test the effect of gas bombs on ships' personnel. All unprotected goats are killed. The findings and recommendations of the tests are summarized.
