At the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Expedition 42/43 Soyuz Commander Anton Shkaplerov of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), NASA Flight Engineer Terry Virts and Flight Engineer Samantha Cristoforetti of the European Space Agency, and their backups, Oleg Kononenko of Roscosmos, Kjell Lindgren of NASA and Kimiya Yui of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, climbed aboard their Soyuz TMA-15M spacecraft in the Integration Facility Nov. 19 for a final “fit check” dress rehearsal the day before the Soyuz was mated to its booster Nov. 20 in advance of its move to the launch pad. The trio is preparing for liftoff on Nov. 24, Kazakh time, for a five-and-a-half-month mission on the International Space Station.
