About this film
Expedition 43 Soyuz Commander Gennady Padalka with Flight Engineers Mikhail Kornienko of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Scott Kelly from NASA, participated in a variety of activities at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on March 21 and 23 as they prepared for launch to the International Space Station on March 27 U.S. time (March 28, Kazakh time). The footage includes the crew’s traditional media day activities at the Cosmonaut Hotel in Baikonur and their final inspection of the Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft. Kelly and Kornienko will spend a year aboard the orbital outpost.
