About this film

Last year I found a Thomas A. Edison movie, "Sky Scrapers of New York City From the North River", shot in 1903 (Library of Congress). It inspired me to catch the Stockholm waterfront from Djurgårdsfärjan, the ferry between the Old Town/Slussen and Djurgården. It's early spring and noon, rather bleach colours. You round two small islands (Skeppsholmen and Kastellholmen), formerly and partly still reserved for the navy. The Royal Castle and Skeppsbron - the Old Town eastern waterfront - appear as well. Filmed in April 2007. Early Swedish film makers has also shot views from this ferry - see "Gamla stan under 750 år", a DVD published 2002 by Stockholms Stadsarkiv (city archive).
