About this film
Captain Z-ro (starring and created by Roy Steffens) was a children's television space opera featuring the eponimous time traveller and his companion, Jet (Bruce Haynes), visiting many key figures from the past. Copyright Status: All episodes were registered as published films in 1955 and 1956. In order for the copyrights in these films to continue to operate, renewals needed to be lodged in the relevant calendar years 1983 and 1984. No such renewals were lodged and the episodes entered the public domain. Later registration attempts on a number of episodes were rejected and cancelled by the USCO. A registration for the printed unpublished screenplays was allowed, however the registration states that it applies only to the material in the screenplays which was not previously published in the films. As such, that registration does not limit the public domain status of these original films. These episodes are available to download on this page:- 01 (18/Dec/55) Christopher Columbus.
