U.S. Army newsreel, which shows combat operations in late Nov and in Dec of 1944. Sound stops at a few minutes into the film (flaw in source file at National Archives). Description from the National Archives: "Part 1 shows mop-up operations at Valencia and in the Ormoc Corridor on Leyte, Philippine Islands. On the Mindoro beach supplies are unloaded and enemy planes are downed. An airstrip is constructed and used; a P-38 crash lands. Part 2 shows the air-ferry route of lend-lease planes from the U.S. to Russia. Shows planes en route; aerial views of Edmonton, Canada; Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) air base construction at Watson Lake, Yukon Territory; planes lined up at Fairbanks, Alaska. Russians accept the planes and take off for Siberia. Part 3, British, Scottish, and Chinese troops advance near Pinwe, Burma (Nov. 30, 1944). A railroad bridge is constructed. Jungle is cleared and Stilwell Road construction continues. Gen. Pick inspects the Road (Dec. 14). Gen. Sultan inspects Allied lines and Japanese equipment (Dec. 18).
