1944 U.S. War Department Bureau of Public Relations film no. 771, Airborne Invasion Of Greece . National Archives description: "C-47 transport planes and gliders are loaded with heavy equipment at a British airfield in the Mediterranean area. British paratroops check their 'chutes, are inspected by officers, and board the transports. The planes take off towing the gliders. The paratroops jump and supplies are dropped over Greece. A machine gun is set up and engineers search for German mines. Greek peasants and guerrillas fraternize with the British troops."
