Captured Nazi film repurposed for U.S. Army newsreel. National Archives description "Summary: Scenes from captured German film shows fire department to extinguish oil tank fire. Scenes of burnt-out oil tanks. Heavy black smoke pours from buildings at refinery. VS, smoking and burning oil dumps and storage tanks. SEPTEMBER 1944. Air Force officers examine the damage done to the Ploesti refinery. VS, complete wreckage of equipment and refinery bldgs. TURNU-SEVERN, ROUMANIA. Scenes from captured German film. Pan, wrecked bldgs, railroad yard, round houses, locomotives in city. LSs, fires and much heavy black smoke at Brasov. VS, factory, railroad facilities and airstrip at Brasov. MSs, CUs, fire and explosions in buildings and railroad stations at Bucharest. VS, German fire fighters at work. MSs, bombed university and royal palace in Bucharest.
