Walküre: Winterstürme wichen dem Wonnemond (Wagner) 25 cm Gramophone Pre-Dog 3-42092 Matrix Nr. 2466 L Ernst KRAUS - Tenor (& Orch.), Bruno SEIDLER-WINKLER - Dirigent rec. 1904 Note 1: This record sounds "too fast" to me, so I made a copy at 76,4 revolutions per minute. This is no great numerical difference, but it makes a great difference in the sound and naturalness of the recording. The 78 rpm version is given, too. Note 2: CHARM gives take 2 as published ( 2466 1/2 L). The reason that this first take was not used (so often) could be, that someone (a man) is talking just at the end of the music. He says "Das war (...) der richtige Akkord." (That was (...) the right chord.) I have repeated that sequence three times in an extra track (Winterstürme sprechen), so that you can try to find out on yourself the one word that is not understandable for me. If you can identify it: write a comment!
