1931 directed by B. Reeves Eason and Richard Thorpe starring Walter Miller, Nora Lane, Tom Santschi, Boris Karloff, Dorothy Christy, Victor Potel, Mischa Auer, Otto Hoffman and Arthur McLaglen as the Ape-Man. Man-of-Action and all-around bully-boy Dick Grant is accused of a murder he didn’t commit and runs to Africa in search of diamond field and the real killer. Early Mascot serial is below mediocre, probably due to an obvious low-budget. Notable because of Karloff. Improves a bit with chapter seven.
