About this film
Documentation of the Grand Opening of Gimli's Waterfront Centre. The Waterfront Centre, sponsored by the Betel Heritage Foundation, is a beautiful, independent housing complex for seniors (55+). It is conveniently located in the heart of Gimli and is close walking distance to all town amenities. The Centre was designed to promote and preserve the rich heritage of the Icelandic culture. The building houses the New Iceland Heritage Museum, which annually offers up it's Lady of the Lake Theatre as one of the theatres of the town's annual Gimli Film Festival. A description written by the video's donor Patricia Zdrill: "When the NIHM was opened at the Waterfront location - my dad was Chairman of the Board. My dad was Laurence S. G. Johnson. I have a personal copy on a VHS tape of the opening."
